The CRÊPE-VELPEAU Elastic Bandage is a versatile medical device offering adaptive support for various medical and sports situations. It mainly provides a muscle and joint stabilization function for minor trauma such as sprains and strains. Its adjustable compression system makes it particularly effective in treating minor circulatory disorders and preventing edema. It is also used in the post-operative context to promote healing and as a support for fixing dressings on complex anatomical areas. In the sports field, it offers both a preventive and curative solution, preventing injuries or providing support after exercise.
Composition and properties
Elasticity: Made from textile fibers (often cotton with added elastic fibers). Elastic in one or two directions (longitudinal and transverse), they provide light and uniform compression.Crepe texture: The crepe structure ensures self-adhesion during bandaging, which limits slippage and ensures optimal support.
Physical characteristics
Breathability: Lightweight and air-permeable, they allow good skin ventilation.
Dimensions and maintenance
Variable width and length: Available in several sizes, e.g., 4cm, 6cm, 8cm, 10cm, 15cm, 20cm x 4m, to fit different body parts.Washable and reusable: Durable, they can often be washed for extended reuse.
Precautions for use
Controlled tension: Do not apply too much tension to avoid excessive compression, which could lead to circulatory problems.Skin monitoring: Regularly check skin condition, especially in sensitive individuals or those with vascular conditions.Warning signs: In case of pain, numbness, or cyanosis (bluish discoloration), remove the bandage immediately.
